How Do You Stay Motivated?

I need a break today. I'm craving inspiration. I was on a creative high starting out the new year, and now I seem to be spiraling downward. What do you do when you feel unmotivated?

Just bumped into your blog, and it's so pretty. Love the header + this photo! Reminds me of spring, which I sorely miss.

I get really motivated by learning new things ... I listen to a lot of podcasts.

Oddly if I'm feeling unmotivated I put Murder She Wrote on... within minutes I'll be happily stitching away! I don't know what it is about watching Jessica solve murders but it always makes me want to sew!!!

Hmm... I just kinda let the phase come and go. Use it to get some other stuff done that you don't want to do when you're creativity is going strong.

I like taking a break now and then... :)

Hope it comes back soon!

I definitely have been unmotivated this week, but I came across Phil 2:12-13, and I like my NLT version: ...giving you the DESIRE and POWER to do what pleases Him. I sometimes wonder where the desire to do something comes from, like how can you muster up the desire to desire something?

Do something creatively simple and repetitive till I come up with something, do something else, stop and go in a totally new direction with something I haven't ever explored yet, take someone else's idea and take it in a whole new direction...just kinda depends I guess.

The book 'The Creative Habit' by Twila Tharp (which I have not read completely) talks about a warm up exercise before you create to get you ready. The book seems to be more about the discipline behind creating.
