[Absence]

Mountains

This has been a week full of exciting adventures, new friends, familiar faces and lots and lots of learning. Salt Lake City has been a wonderful meeting place for the Alt Design Summit. I've received lots of amazing advice, tips and information and am feeling quite inspired and honestly, a bit overwhelmed [in only the best way]. Now... where to begin?

Feeling kind of bummed out today... a bit tired and overwhelmed. Hoping for a restful and fun weekend - have a great one!

Quarter Life Celebration

I don't usually post twice in one day... but my sweet seester-in-law just shared a little video she made from Travis's birthday party on Sunday. She shot it all using this amazing 8mm Vintage Camera iPhone app. I am so happy that his 25th celebration could be documented this way! We had such a lovely time - I set up a big table in the middle of our living room and we partied the night away. Hope you all enjoy!

Catching Up...

Hello my sweet friends! Sorry to be absent for a bit but I had the loveliest break and tried to savor every moment [away from the computer as much as possible]. I'm back today and trying to play catch up! So many e-mails to send, blogs to read, ideas to brainstorm... Happy New Year!

Last night I hosted a birthday party for my hubs who just turned 25 last week. It was what I'm calling a semi-elegant dinner party with a subtle Harry Potter theme [his favorite!]. Here are a few photos I snapped with my phone and I'll share more details [and mayyybeee a little video] soon!

Cheers to a fresh new week in a brand new year!!

[A Glimpse Of Our Christmas]

ChristmasChristmasChristmasChristmasChristmasChristmas

We have had the loveliest time in snowy Salt Lake City this week... So much food my stomach hurts [namely homemade caramels, lasagna and Reese's cookies], sweet time with family, delicious vino and today... celebrating the hubs' 25th birthday! We head home tomorrow but will not forget our beautiful white Christmas in Utah this year. Hope you all had a very happy one as well!!

A Good Reminder...

It Always Seems Impossible Until It Is Done

Yes, this bathroom renovation may be exhausting and feel impossible at the moment... but we're so very close to finishing and I truly believe it will be worth all of the stress, money and time. If you're feeling down and tired today, hang in there! The weekend will be here soon enough.

Pretty Pretty [Mobile] Wallpapers

Our bathroom renovation is well underway and I'm quite excited to see the end result [I will have before and after photos!]. We're tired and happen to be without a toilet tonight... but we're thankful for all of the helpful hands and caring neighbors that we have. The hubs had a little accident and sliced his finger which landed us in the ER for several hours and several stitches. I've obviously been dreaming of change and redecorating... which led me to this post from La Petite Choue. How adorable are these free iPhone and iPad wallpapers from Poolga? A quick, easy [and fun!] way to switch it up depending on your mood. No messy renovations needed!

The Civil Wars - Barton Hollow

I am extremely excited to be able to share with you the newest video "Barton Hollow" from The Civil Wars... I had the wonderful priviledge of styling and assisting for the shoot and am so happy with how it turned out. Joy is wearing a vintage lace camisole from Troubadour Vintage [similar ones will be in the store this week] and my great grandmother's stunning mink. She's also wearing a beautiful knife skirt courtesy of Billy Reid. John Paul is decked out in head-to-toe Billy Reid and looks pretty darn good! Mr. Reid sure knows how to dress a man.

P.S. The debut album from The Civil Wars [also called Barton Hollow] releases February 1, 2011.

A Quick Hello

A Quick Hello
Hello, hello! I've been buried deep in Troubadour goodness and am excited to finally get the store relaunched this week [hopefully Wednesday]! Stay tuned for that and more goodies coming soon. Hope your week is off to a great start!

Anniversary Weekend!

Hi friends -- so sorry I haven't been too plugged into the blog world this week! I've been crazy busy working behind-the-scenes to get Troubadour Vintage revamped and am excited to reveal some fun things in the next week! This Sunday is the hubs and I's second anniversary and I'm hoping to wrap some things up before then... so we have the weekend all to ourselves! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday!

The Weekend [In Photos]

My oh my, what a weekend! We had such a fabulous time road tripping to Atlanta with our friends for the Jónsi show. It was absolutely amazing [really, there are no words] and Halloween couldn't have been a more perfect night to see him live. I'm still processing all of the beautiful, mind-blowing artwork Jónsi incorporated into his show, along with his stellar vocals. Seriously in. sane.

We made it back late yesterday evening... just in time for another great show with Mumford & Sons. Their energy and passion were infectious and the crowd went wild pretty much non-stop. It was a glorious weekend and went by oh-too-quickly! A video will be coming soon, but for now enjoy some photos I took on my phone!

Happy Halloweekend!

Jónsi

We are heading to Atlanta this weekend to see Jónsi on Halloween night... I am so excited I could burst! Back home to Nashville on Monday evening to see Mumford & Sons -- it is going to be a magical few nights of music.

Happy Halloween!!

[Vintage Vintage]

I've been working hard behind-the-scenes to revamp Troubadour Vintage... I'm quite excited for you all to see what I've been doing! I hope to have things updated online in the next few weeks, but for now, I wanted to share some recent photos from my adventures. I took a little buying trip out to East Tennessee last week to do some treasure hunting for the shop. I'm in love with some of the pieces I've found and can't wait to share them with you!

[Wedding Weekend]

Airplane

Well, I'm off to Pennsylvania today for my cousin-in-law's wedding and am quite excited! I'm going to meet a lot of extended family [on the hubs' side] that I've never met and celebrate in a beautiful marriage!

Oh My Deer
While we're on the topic of weddings... You can find me over at the lovely Oh My Deer blog today, sharing a little inspiration board I created inspired by marriage, parties and pretty colors. Thanks for having me, Chelsea!

Autumn Leaf
I have been desperately trying to get my fingers to type a fashion post... but they refuse. My brain is just not all there today. I hope you will forgive me and enjoy the pretty photo instead. Happy October and have a fantastic weekend!

Stressed

Lots going on and a busy week ahead of me. Good things... just feeling a bit tired and overwhelmed. Trying to take deep breaths and take care of one thing at a time [which we all know I'm not so great at]. Enjoy your day - I'll be back tomorrow with a little giveaway! Yay!

{Date Night}

The hubs and I shared a lovely evening together Friday... We went to a fancy restaurant [that has the best margherita pizza ever] and laughed over wine [beer for the mister] and yummy food... it was the perfect little date night. What did you do this weekend?

Things To Be Happy About

Yesterday was just one of those days... I felt overworked, under-appreciated, sore [we painted our living room this weekend] and craved nothing but junk food. I was such a complainer that I couldn't even muster up a nice blog post. Am I alone in this? Well, I'm happy to report after indulging in said junk food, a massage from my sweet hubs, a long bath and a good nights' sleep, I'm feeling much better.
Elise
The adorable Elsie of A Beautiful Mess posted a 'Things To Be Happy About' post last night, and I thought it'd be the perfect list for me to make today as well.

- A trip to St. Louis for Labor Day weekend. It's been forever since I've been there and am quite excited to visit places like this!

- Beautiful weather. The temperatures have finally dropped a bit in Nashville, making it somewhat bearable to be outside now! Yay!

- A pretty new living room. The new paint color is much darker than I expected, but I really do love it. We finally got the room all put back together last night and I can't wait to share photos soon [still have a few more things to do first].

- A date night this week with the hubs. I have been keeping us busy with house project after house project, so I know we are both so looking forward to a night that is just about the two of us.

- Some exciting new things I'm working on for Troubadour Vintage. I'll be updating you on this soon soon soon.

Now that I've started, I could go on and on. What are you most happy about today?

A [Nothing] Day

image via weheartit

Yesterday, the hubs and I traveled down to Birmingham to see The Civil Wars play to a packed out {and sold out} crowd. It was amazing, as always, and I couldn't be prouder of my sis-in-law... and maybe a bit jealous of her singing abilities. :) We finally made it home after 2 am and I decided to take the day off and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. I've been catching up on the blog world, online shopping {or at least looking}, flipping through magazines and redecorating the house. I love days like this - it's been fabulous. Work can always wait, right?

Happy Monday to you!
